Frisbee A nice, easy recreational throw-and-catch game of Frisbee (which is a registered trademark of Wham-O, Inc., but also refers to the name of the game) can be a relaxing outdoor activity at your barbecue event. If an ordinary,
plastic Frisbee is a bit boring for you, the toy industry has
totally revamped the traditional flying disc (a.k.a. disk).
Available are flying discs that (1) glow in the dark if you’re
playing at night; (2) make noise (i.e. whistle) via batteries as it
travels through the air; (3) resist damage and reduce injury through
special, flexible plastic if your dog bites down and chews on it;
and (4) travel longer distances via special shapes. Check your local
sporting goods store or toy store (i.e. Toys “R” Us, etc.) for
flying disks. At your barbecue event, two or more people can take turns throwing and catching the flying disk. The family dog can join in on the fun too!
Helpful Tips: No matter what sport or physical activity you and/or your guests decide to participate in at your outdoor barbecue event, this section provides useful information and tips for optimal performance and enjoyment:
While exercising, perspiration allows your body to cool off as the sweat evaporates from your skin (a natural cooling mechanism), but in the process of this thermoregulation you loose electrolytes in addition to H2O. Therefore, if you’ve been especially sweating a lot, you need to replenish your lost electrolytes. In this case, sports drinks - fortified with electrolytes - (e.g., Gatorade, Powerade, All Sport, Recharge, Extreme Ripped Force and Champion Nutrition Revenge Sport) are good choices. There are also other energy drinks available on the market, such as vitamin-fortified water (e.g., Glacéau [a.k.a. Glaceau] Vitamin Water, Glacéau Smart Water, Glacéau Fruit Water, Glacéau Vitamin Energy, Propel Fitness Water and SoBe Life Water).
